Bogner-Strauß distinguishes FH Kufstein Tirol as a family-friendly university
As an educational institution, FH Kufstein Tirol also has a role model function, which it must not neglect. One of the earliest goals of the university was to provide a balance between studies, work and family. The first extra-occupational study program Real Estate & Facility Management already started in 2000.
“I am happy that FH Kufstein Tirol as a family-friendly university has already received the certificate for the third time,” declared the Federal Minister of Women, Families and Youth Dr. Juliane Bogner-Strauß in Vienna. The university of applied sciences was audited for the first time in 2012, followed by the first reauditing in 2015, and now the it has again received the university-and-family Certificate from Familie & Beruf Management GmbH, the Austrian coordination office for compatibility measures. “Family must not be an obstacle on the path of education, and the FH Kufstein University of Applied Sciences sets a good example in this regard,” added Bogner-Strauß.
Positive example for the executives of tomorrow
Mag. (FH) Sara Neubauer managed the project university-and-family at FH Kufstein Tirol. “Our students are the executives of tomorrow. We want to set an example for them, an example they can carry forward into their subsequent professional lives. This also includes the importance of making professional and family life compatible with studies,” said Neubauer.
Focus on family-friendliness and flexibility
Past goals and measures have already been implemented: The illness of children or relatives requiring care has meanwhile been accepted as grounds of excuse regarding exams. “FH Kufstein Tirol has even anchored family-friendliness in its mission statement and sets a good example for others,” commented Managing Director of Familie & Beruf Management GmbH Mag. Elisabeth Wenzl. Mag. (FH) Sara Neubauer added: “We will also provide our employees with new health offers and are currently developing a new mobile office regulation.”
